5 Reasons why you should book Airbnb in Canggu Bali

There are a few hotels in Canggu, most of which are relatively new and have excellent amenities. Staying at one of the hotels isn’t expensive. On average, you can find a hotel room for about 700K IDR.

Staying in a hotel in Canggu is great. There is nothing wrong with that.

However, if you will spend the money anyway, why not choose a bigger space with modern and traditional finishes, with a complete Balinese vibe to it? Why not rent a villa in Canggu Bali?

Here are some reasons why you should book a Canggu Airbnb the next time you are in Bali, Indonesia.

1. For the same price as booking a hotel, you can get a Canggu beach apartment, luxury room or private villa

When I think of a tropical paradise, I immediately think of Bali. And specifically, I think of Canggu. Canggu has all the best private luxury villas and beach apartments that don’t cost an arm and a leg. For a very reasonable price, you can stay in the gorgeous Airbnb villa in Canggu.

Even though there are many hotel options in Canggu, for what you pay for a standard hotel room, you will have a chance to experience a luxury Canggu Airbnb villa, with the most beautiful swimming pools and special amenities. Live like a queen for a day or a few weeks. It is worth every penny!

Best of all, there are many cheap villas in Canggu. Pick one that suits your travel style and budget!

2. Access to kitchen and other unique amenities

There are a ton of options when it comes to eating out in Canggu!

However, having access to a kitchen may be necessary for some of you. It is a nice option to make breakfast or a simple meal. And if you stay in a hotel, cooking is not an option.

Also, some Canggu Bali villas may offer other unique amenities like a Crossfit gym. You can work out and eat all the delicious food simultaneously!

3. Personal attention from the Airbnb host

When you rent a villa in Canggu, the host will ensure you enjoy your time while staying at their villa.

Some hosts will put together a local guide which includes the best restaurants and cafes near Airbnb in Canggu, recommended laundry shops, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. And they will be sure to include all the emergency phone numbers just in case you need them.

Typically, each villa in Canggu has a team of staff at the villa during the day to clean the rooms and maintain the pool and common areas. And they are reachable via Whatsapp (a popular way to communicate in Bali), at any time of the day.

4. Live like a local in Bali

The beauty of staying in Airbnb accommodation is to live like a local. You can “pretend” to live in Canggu for a while and see what life feels like. You have all the comforts of home including a bedroom, living area and kitchen while living in a neighbourhood that is not super touristy. There are restaurants nearby where locals frequent and store selling products that are generally cheaper than supermarkets.

5. Airbnb in Bali is a better option for long-term travel

Airbnb in Bali is an excellent option if you are travelling long-term. Some Bali Airbnb listings will offer a weekly or monthly discount. The idea is that if you stay longer, it will be cheaper.

From a budget point of view, staying in an Airbnb in Bali is better for your wallet especially if you travel for a long time or slow travelling through Bali.

My Top 4 Airbnb Canggu Bali Villas

There are plenty of Airbnb Bali villas for rent and I’ve stayed at many Airbnb private rooms and villas in Canggu. I’ve narrowed down my choices and here is my top 4 favourite Airbnb in Canggu and why I love each one.

1. Best-designed room: Vassani Stay

Location is everything! Vassani Stay is right above Gypsy Cafe on Jalan Batu Bolong in Canggu. And it is 5 minutes away from Batu Bolong Beach, Old Man’s and all the best restaurants and cafes in Canggu.

There are a few types of apartments at Vassani Stay, and I stayed in one of the three loft apartments. And there are only a few units in the whole Airbnb complex.

The loft apartment can occupy up to four people. The unit is modern with terrazzo walls that mimic the look and feel of concrete. The entire space is designed with minimalistic aesthetics but feels very comfortable.

There is a shared kitchen that you can use while staying at Vassani Stay. There is also a common sitting area and a gorgeous swimming pool.

I love everything about Vassani Stay. The location is great, with beautiful decor, reliable wifi, and a group of welcoming and helpful staff. Vassani Stay is a real gem in Canggu!

2. Best private apartment: Echo Beach Apartment

The Echo Beach Apartment is a two-storey building complex with beautifully furnished apartments. Each unit is the same, with only six units total.

Once you enter the apartment, you will find a spacious living room, dining area and a full kitchen. Further into the apartment is the bedroom with a lovely ensuite bathroom. The entire apartment is somewhat minimalistic, similar to Scandinavian interiors. Every piece of furniture is simple in design but purposeful.

There is also a small balcony with two chairs and a table at the entrance. And just beyond your balcony (if you are on the ground floor) is the shared swimming pool. Because there are only six units in the entire complex, the pool is not busy at all.

The villa is quietly tucked away from the main streets, so it is quiet and peaceful. But it is close to Echo Beach, just a few minutes away. I love how it is centrally located and yet very quiet.

3. Best villa for work and working out: Villa Ra

Further up Jalan Batu Bolong is Villa Ra. The villa has four bedrooms in the entire complex. The common area has a full kitchen, a comfortable living room with a big-screen tv, a dining area for ten and a swimming pool. It even has a Crossfit gym! Perfect for those who want to stay in shape while eating all the yummy food in Canggu.

Each room has either a super king bed or two super king single beds. And it has a duo workspace which is great for anyone who works remotely. The bathroom is spacious and designed well and clean.

They also put some thoughtful touches on your living quarters. Each room has a smart tv, a safe, a separate router and a mini-fridge. And if you forgot your universal adapter, each room has international power points and USB outlets.

Villa Ra is not just a regular Airbnb; they clean your room daily! The staff comes by your room daily to clean your room and make sure you have everything you need.

4. Best room in a luxury villa: Villa Absolute

Tucked away on Jalan Padang LinjongVilla Absolute is a modern and well-designed private villa.

The villa has a monochromatic shared common area including a shared living room, dining room and a full kitchen. And there is a beautiful swimming pool in the centre of the villa.

The entire villa has 3 bedrooms. Each room is decorated with unique touches like high-quality bedsheets and essential oil diffusers.  And if you work remotely or want to stream movies online, each room has a router with a fibre optic wifi connection.

Communication with the host is super easy, and the staff is there to cater to all your needs. They clean your room, manage airport transfers, etc. And you can ask them to rent a scooter for you and arrange for a masseuse to come to the villa, etc.

I stayed in the Karma room, the spacious bedroom on the ground floor next to the living area. The room can occupy up to two people and has a comfortable king-size bed and a modern ensuite bathroom. The room feels homey and comfortable.

And if you are not travelling solo and visiting Canggu as a group, you can rent out the entire private villa. It is such a great spot for big gatherings!
