What you need to know before visiting the best spas in Canggu
Before you get a nail treatment or massage in Canggu, take a look at my post on everything you need to know before going to Bali. I included a lot of travel information, including how to get around Bali, how to get a prepaid SIM card and other essential Bali travel tips.
Here are a few additional tips for visiting some a spa in Canggu:
- If you want a specific massage treatment or spa treatment, make sure to book at least one day ahead. Most Canggu spas can take reservations via WhatsApp.
- Watch for special promotions on Instagram for some of the spas listed below. Many of these spas in Canggu advertise through Instagram and offer discounted treatments on specific days.
- Order a GoRide (aka scooter) via the GoJek app if you don’t have a scooter. When your driver arrives, hop on the back, and your driver will take you to the spa in Canggu. He will give you a helmet too.
Where to go for spa in Canggu: my top 10 Canggu day spas
Going to the spa is one of my favourite solo activities of all time! It is the perfect thing to do if you are travelling solo. After all, travelling can be tough. So it would help if you took time to pamper yourself. At least that’s what I tell myself. Ha!
I tried each and single one of the day spas I listed below and they are all excellent in my opinion. And best of all, they are all very affordable. As a quick reference, 100K IDR is 100,000 Indonesia Rupiah, which is equal to approximately $7USD. And a massage in Canggu costs between 190K IDR to 270K IDR.
So in no particular order, here are my top 10 picks for the best Canggu massage and day spas.
1. Spring Spa Canggu
One of the most delightful day spas is Spring Spa Canggu in Bali. The white-washed interiors, comfortable beachy lounge seating, and large rattan pendant lights created a relaxed island vibe. And each treatment room is decorated in the same manner to create the most comfortable atmosphere for your spa treatment.
My go-to massage treatment in Bali is always the Balinese massage. It is the best type of massage in Bali! The massage therapists at Spring Spa understand human anatomy and know all your sore spots. I had one of the best massages ever! For a one-hour treatment, you will feel all your tension melt away. And it only costs 270K IDR!
Spring Spa has many different types of treatments including various types of massages, body scrubs, hair treatments and more. And if you are in Seminyak, you can still enjoy the same spa treatments at Spring Spa’s other locations in Seminyak.

2. Mariá Curau
Mariá Curau is a boutique salon that offers spa treatments including aromatherapy massage, coco lux scrub and a surf n’ soak massage for those of you who want a treatment that stimulates the nervous system, boosts your energy and wakes up your tired muscles.
They also do manicures and pedicures in the open space facing the rice paddies. You can get their Luxe manicure treatment where they use the best coconut milk and lavender essential oil to soak your hands and feet. The treatment also includes an exfoliating massage. And they have their own nail polish line which you won’t find anywhere else. The quality of the nail polish is top-notch. The manicure costs 300K IDR.
Whenever I get a regular nail polish manicure, the polish would chip after a few days. However, after my manicure at Mariá Curau, the regular polish lasted for at least four weeks before any colour chipped away. I’m very impressed by their techniques and nail polish quality.

3. Muka Concepts
Muka Concepts is a day spa in the Pererenan area that offers several massages and facials in which they exclusively use their own skincare products which are made from local ingredients.
I tried the 90-minute Muka Signature Facial treatment for 600K IDR, which includes a thorough massage, deep cleaning for the pores, facial masks and their signature mouth massage.
At first, I thought it was kind of weird to massage around the mouth and the inside of the mouth, but it was quite relaxing. Never done that before!
Besides providing luxurious spa treatments, they also have a retail store called Muka Shop where you can buy their skincare products and clothing.
Don’t leave Muka Concepts without touring around the property. The courtyard and swimming pool area are rather lovely (see the main photo of this post).

Address: Jl. Pantai Pererenan, No. 140-130 (see map) | Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
4. Lotus Massage Therapy
Lotus Massage Therapy is at a new location on Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan. Don’t be fooled by the simple, little house sitting between rice fields. Their massage therapy is pretty damn good!
As always, I went for a Balinese massage. A Balinese massage costs 180K IDR for 60 minutes or 250K IDR for 90 minutes. Just because they are a bit cheaper than a fancier spa, it doesn’t mean they lack quality. The massage therapists are strong and know exactly how to remove all the knots in your muscles. Even though you don’t get a private massage room, the massage beds are covered with privacy curtains on all sides.
They also have deep tissue massage, shiatsu and massage for surfers. And if you want to try other types of massage, try their anti-cellulite/sliming spa treatment or aromatherapy.
They also do house calls. I saw an advertising pamphlet at one of the private villas in Canggu. The rate is a bit higher, but they will come directly to your villa if you can’t go to their location. It costs 250K IDR per hour.

5. AMO Spa Canggu
AMO Spa has everything you want for a day spa! From massages, manicures, pedicures, makeup, eyelash extensions, hair care, and facial. Whatever you want, you can probably find it at AMO spa.
They even have a sauna in their Amo Thermea facilities and an IV Therapy where they drip their signature infusion intravenously.
But what really caught my eye when I was flipping through the spa menu was the Vagina Ozonizer. It is a treatment to prevent and treat infections and to increase blood circulation. Umm…interesting! Ha!
However, the one I was interested in the most is the Hair Spa at their hair salon. For 220K IDR, the hair treatment includes your choice of a hair mask where they massage it into your scalp. Then followed by shampoo and blow-dry. It is quite relaxing!
Drop by the spa or reserve time through a Whatsapp text message.

6. Chillax Massage Therapy
I found Chillax Massage Therapy back in 2018 when it was at Jalan Batu Bolong. But the new and improved location has a minimalistic interior with an island vibe.
The day spa continues to offer all kinds of spa treatments. I chose the 90 minutes of Balinese massage for only 190K IDR. The cheap massage is just as good as any other massages I’ve had in Canggu.
And Chillax Massage Therapy also has other treatments like manicures and pedicures. If you want a guaranteed timeslot, make sure to call ahead or drop by in person to book an appointment. I couldn’t get a massage the first time I walked in so I made an appointment for the following day.
And Chillax Massage Therapy also has other treatments like manicures and pedicures. If you want a guaranteed timeslot, make sure to call ahead or drop by in person to book an appointment.

7. Therapy Canggu
The facade of Therapy Canggu may look simple and stark from the outside, but the inside is entirely different. Using materials like wood and concrete with a muted colour scheme, the spa’s interior is surprisingly warm and welcoming.
Also, they use the best quality products for all the spa treatments. The products were not tested on animals and are environmentally friendly and chemical-free.
Moreover, massage therapists are very skilled. They understand all the pressure points, so they can effectively give you the best massage treatment.
I chose The Healing Act, which is essentially a massage based on traditional Balinese massage techniques. I felt like a new person after the massage! It’s funny how an hour of massage can change your whole body! It was the best massage ever! And it only costs 270K IDR.
They offer other treatments as well, such as body scrubs, facials, manicures and pedicures.
And if your pockets are deep enough, go for one of the packages for 800K IDR and get 3 hours of pampering, which includes a 60-minute massage, scalp therapy, manicure and pedicure.

8. Tonic Day Spa & Botanicals
One of the newer spas in Canggu is Tonic Day Spa and Botanicals. They offer different types of massages, scrubs, facial treatments and even offer manicures and pedicures.
The prices are pretty standard for individual treatments. But check out Tonic’s website for the weekly promotion. For 450K IDR, you can get a full body massage, exfoliating, moisturizing and a facial.
The package treatment is really worth it because you get two hours of pampering. I can’t imagine doing anything else in Canggu than going to the spa.
And not to mention the pastel Palm Spring theme and pink flamingos inside the day spa. Oh, so cute!

Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan (see map) | Hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
9. FaceDay
One of the new day spas in Canggu is FaceDay in Berawa. The salon specializes in facials and skincare.
During your first visit, you can have a free evaluation of your face. Basically, the therapist uses an instrument to capture all your skin info, and the app will tell you your problem areas. Based on your results, the therapist will suggest a specific facial treatment.
It turns out my skin is not bad for my age. Ha! So the therapist suggested I get a Wonder Sculpt facial (800K IDR) as I have been getting a bit of sun in Bali. And I also got The Swan (200K IDR) as an add-on to my facial treatment.
The facial was relaxing, and my face has never felt better. And both treatments were discounted because of the promotion I saw on their FaceDay Instagram account. Make sure to follow them and see what upcoming promotions they have.

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa, No. 38 (see map) | Hours: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
10. Colors Nail Bar Bali
Colors Nail Bar Bali is an amazing nail salon in the Berawa area of Canggu. Besides mani and pedi, they also do eyelash extensions, waxing and foot reflexology.
I first discovered the nail salon back in 2018. I loved it so much back then that I went back again in 2021. They continue to do an outstanding job each time.
And every time I go get a gel polish manicure and pedicure, I would go on a Friday because Friday is their happy hour (or day, I guess). That means you get 50% off of both mani and pedi.
And even if they didn’t have the discount, I would happily pay full price (290K IDR for a manicure and 310K IDR for a pedicure) because it is not expensive and because they continue to amaze me with the quality of their work.
Watch for promotions on the Colors Nail Bar Instagram account and book an appointment via Whatsapp.

Address: Jl. Raya Semat, No. 15B (see map) | Hours: 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
