Canggu is a small coastal town in Bali known for its amazing beaches for surfing, an abundance of healthy food and a hot spot for many remote workers living the digital nomad life. So if you are not surfing, eating delicious food or working, what do you do around Canggu?
Fear no more! If you are vacationing around this part of Indonesia and you are looking for things to do in Canggu, then I have good news for you! You are close to all the best spas and there isn’t a shortage of Canggu day spa. And moreover, you don’t need to take out a second mortgage for a spa treatment! Ha!
Going to the spa is one of the best solo activities that any solo traveller would love to do. And I’ve been known to enjoy spa time myself. Who doesn’t though? It is one of the most relaxing ways to spend an hour (or a few) especially if you are travelling alone.
So while you are in Bali, make sure you indulge in spa treatments and enjoy a massage in Canggu

My favourite Canggu Massage and Day Spas
Going to the spa is one of my favourite solo activities of all time! It is the perfect thing to do if you are travelling solo. After all, travelling can be tough. So you need to take time to pamper yourself. At least that’s what I tell myself. Ha!
I tried each and single one of the day spas I listed below and they are all excellent in my opinion. And best of all, they are all very affordable. As a quick reference, 100K IDR is 100,000 Indonesia Rupiah, which is equal to approximately $7USD. And a massage in Canggu costs between 190K IDR to 270K IDR.
So in no particular order, here are my top picks for best Canggu massage and day spas.
Pro tip: How to Order a Go-Jek
If you are staying along the main streets in Canggu, like Jalan Batu Bolong, you can pretty much walk to most of these.
And if it’s a bit too far, hop on a scooter, and you will be there in no time.
No scooter? No problem! Download Go-jek on your smartphone and order a Go-Ride (which is a scooter). Go-jek is similar to Grab or Uber where you can order a car, but you are requesting a scooter instead. It is a popular car and bike service in Bali. Once you order your scooter, just hop on the back of the scooter, and your driver will take you to the spa. Don’t worry; they will give you a helmet.

Spring Spa Canggu
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No. 83C (see map) | Hours: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
One of the most delightful day spas is Spring Spa Canggu in Bali. Even though the spa is located in the busiest part of Canggu, your stress will wash away as soon as you enter into their space.
The white-washed interiors, comfortable beachy lounge seating, and large rattan pendant lights created a relaxed island vibe. Each treatment room is decorated in the same manner to create the most comfortable atmosphere for your spa treatment.
My go-to massage treatment in Bali is always the Balinese massage. It is my favourite massage because the massage therapist uses her palms to push away all the muscle tension. The massage therapists at Spring Spa understand human anatomy and know all your sore spots. I had one of the best massages ever! For a one hour treatment, you will feel all your tension melt away. And it only costs 270K IDR!
Spring Spa has many different types of treatments including various types of massages, body scrubs, hair treatment and more. And if you are in Seminyak, you can still enjoy the same spa treatments at Spring Spa’s other locations in Seminyak.
You can book an appointment via their website. If you are booking online, you will have to give your credit card number to reserve your spot.
In my opinion, Spring Spa is the best spa in Canggu because of its relaxing spa treatments and gorgeous Scandinavian interiors. I have a soft spot for well-designed spaces (because I used to be an interior designer).
Address: Jl. Munduk Kedungu No. 45 (see map) | Hours: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Mariá Curau is a boutique salon that offers spa treatments including aromatherapy massage, coco lux scrub and a surf n’ soak massage for those of you who want a treatment that stimulates the nervous system, boost your energy and wakes up your tired muscles.
They also do manicures and pedicures in the open space facing the rice paddies. You can get their Luxe manicure treatment where they use the best coconut milk and lavender essential oil to soak your hands and feet. The treatment also includes an exfoliating massage. And they have their own line of nail polish which you won’t find anywhere else. The quality of the nail polish is top-notch. The manicure costs 300K IDR.
I’ve never had such good manicure anywhere else! The manicurist was able to cut my nails like no one else ever has. And she was able to cut it in a way to make my fingers look slimmer and sophisticated. Ha! That is how I would describe it. My hands never looked better!
And typically, I would get regular nail polish, and the polish would chip after a few days. However, after my manicure at Mariá Curau, the regular polish lasted for at least four weeks before any colour chipped away. I’m very impressed by their techniques and nail polish quality.
So make sure you call ahead and book an appointment if you want to experience a luxury manicure treatment!
Lotus Massage Therapy
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan (see map) | Hours: 9:30 am to 8:00 pm
Lotus Massage Therapy is at a new location on Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan. Don’t be fooled by the simple, little house sitting between rice fields. Their massage therapy is pretty damn good!
As always, I went for a Balinese massage. A Balinese massage costs 180K IDR for 60 minutes or 250K IDR for 90 minutes. Just because they are a bit cheaper than a fancier spa, it doesn’t mean they lack the quality. The massage therapists are strong and know exactly how to take out all the knots in your muscles. Even though you don’t get a private massage room, the massage beds are covered with privacy curtains on all sides.
They also have deep tissue massage, shiatsu and massage for surfers. And if you want to try other types of massage, try their Indian head massage or foot massage.
They also do house-calls. I saw an advertising pamphlet at Villa Ra, one of the private villas in Canggu. The rate is a bit higher, but they will come directly to your villa if you can’t go to their location. It costs 250K IDR per hour.
AMO Spa Canggu
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No. 69 (see map) | Hours: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
AMO Spa has everything you want for a day spa! From massages, manicures, pedicures, makeup, eyelash extensions, hair care, and facial. Whatever you want, you can probably find it at AMO spa.
They even have a sauna in their Amo Thermea facilities and an IV Therapy where they drip their signature infusion intravenously.
But what really caught my eye when I was flipping through the spa menu was the Vagina Ozonizer. It is a treatment to prevent and treat infections and to increase blood circulation. Umm…interesting! Ha!
However, the one I was interested in the most is the Hair Spa at their hair salon. For 220K IDR, the hair treatment includes your choice of a hair mask where they massage it into your scalp. Then follow by shampoo and blow-dry. It is quite relaxing!
If you are interested in any of the treatments, you can drop by the spa or reserve time through a Whatsapp text message.
Chillax Massage Therapy
Address: Jl. Tanah Barak No.58 (see map) | Hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
While I stayed at Vassani Stay, one of my favourite Airbnbs in Canggu, I found Chillax Massage Therapy next door. The unassuming little house is a spa facility with all kinds of spa treatments. I chose the 90 minutes Balinese massage for only 190K IDR. The cheap massage is just as good as any other massages I’ve had in Canggu.
And Chillax Massage Therapy also has other treatments like manicure and pedicures. If you want to a guaranteed timeslot, make sure to call ahead or drop by in-person to book an appointment. I wasn’t able to get a massage the first time I walked in so I made an appointment for the following day.
Since my last visit to Bali, Chillax Massage Therapy changed location but the spa is still in the same area. The new space is renovated in a minimalistic interior with an island vibe. The space looks welcoming and relaxing.
Goldust Beauty Lounge
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No. 66 (see map) | Hours: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
I was drawn to the pretty dresses in the storefront which led me to the interiors of the Goldust Beauty Lounge. It was only then I realized the store is a retail shop on the ground floor and a day spa on the second floor.
Goldust Beauty Lounge is known for its 24K gold facial treatment which includes an anti-ageing facial treatment and an application of 24K gold leaf applied directly to your face. It is said that the gold leaf can lift and hydrate your skin.
But as always, I opted for a massage instead. I really enjoyed the Goldust Classic Massage. My neck and back muscles seem to need the most attention. The 60-minute massage costs 260K IDR.
Goldust Beauty Lounge also has many other treatments as well. And the salon is a great place to host spa parties for you and all your girlfriends. What a great way to spend an afternoon getting pampered with all your best friends!
To make an appointment, either drop in in-person, send a text message via Whatsapp or through their online form.
Therapy Day Spa
Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan (see map) | Hours: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
The facade of Therapy Day Spa may look simple and stark from the outside, but the inside is entirely different. Using materials like wood and concrete with a muted colour scheme, the interior of the spa is surprisingly warm and welcoming.
Also, they use the best quality products for all the spa treatments. The products were not tested on animals and are environmentally friendly and chemical-free.
Moreover, the massage therapists are very skilled. They understand all the pressure points, so they can effectively give you the best massage treatment.
I chose The Healing Act, which is essentially a massage based on traditional Balinese massage techniques. I felt like a new person after the massage! It’s funny how an hour of massage can change your whole body! It was the best massage ever! And it only costs 270K IDR.
They offer other treatments as well, such as body scrubs, facials, manicure and pedicure.
And if your pockets are deep enough, go for one of the packages for 800K IDR and get 3 hours of pampering, which includes a 60-minute massage, scalp therapy, manicure and pedicure. If you think about it, it is still not that expensive especially when you compared to the prices in North America or Europe.
Make sure you book an appointment ahead of time so you won’t be disappointed.
Colors Nail Bar Bali
Address: Jl. Raya Semat No. 15B (see map) | Hours: 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Colors Nail Bar Bali is a nail bar and juice bar all-in-one. The interior has a very bohemian feel to it, and there is a retail store selling clothing and accessories right beside the salon.
I got gel polish manicure and pedicure on a Friday, which is their happy hour! It is 50% off! And even if they didn’t have the discount, I would happily pay full price (290K IDR for a manicure and 310K IDR for a pedicure) because it is not expensive and they do an outstanding job at fixing my hands and feet. The polish still looks perfect after four weeks!
I was so in love with my nail treatment that I went back to for eyelash extensions. I had a full set of mink eyelashes done on a Tuesday, which is their promotion day where you get 30% off. Best of all, the lashes look fantastic and last for many weeks!
They also have foot reflexology, and they can wax any body hair that needs waxing.
Watch for their promotions on their Instagram account and book an appointment via Whatsapp.
